Main problem

I need this paper edited but I'm not sure about the grammar parts.
I'm confused about colons and quotation marks!
How do you check your own spelling if you don't know if you spelled it wrong in the first place?
Where do I start a paragraph?

Which plan is best for you?

Bronze Plan $5.00 per page

Silver Plan   $6.50 per page

Gold Plan    $8.00 per page

Editing and Proofreading

Unlike large companies or corporations that have multiple employees, I only have me! That's good, and bad in different ways:

The good news
  • you have a personal teacher to help you
  • if you like the service, you can come back again and again
  • you have someone without the bureacracy which gets in the way of quality work
  • the prices are lower
The bad news
  • I'm the only one working on the essay or report
  • it's always more productive to have more than one person analyze a paper

I plan on a set amount of time each day and week, but if I get sick or I have back to school night, you may have to wait. So if you need it done quickly, this may not be the best option for you. But if you want it done right, it is the best choice that you can make.

Editing and proofreading a paper are essentially the same activity from different perspectives. The goal of both is to clarify and improve the message or content. Both take immense concentration. Both require expertise in numerous areas and skills. A paper may be looked numerous times to analyze each of the following elements:

Editing looks at the big picture - paragraph, sentence, and meaning level.
  • purpose
  • paragraph structure
  • topic sentences with details
  • author voice
  • tone
  • sentence structure
  • run-ons
  • fragments
  • word choice
  • subject-verb agreement
  • verb tense agreement
  • transitions
  • parallelism

Proofreading looks at the smaller picture - word level, characters, etc.
  • spelling
  • capitalization
  • grammar
  • capitalization
