When having someone fix your paper, how many times are they looking at it? It is very common to analyze a document at least five times. The first time is just a simple read to understand comprehension. After that, spelling and punctuation are examined. By the third time through, the proofreader has a fairly good grasp of the concepts and style of the text, so word-level analysis is conducted. The overall structure and organization of the document is ascertained and adjusted, and then the paper is ready for the editing and revising stage. |
