The ECU Chapter of Rotaract does community service projects locally. In addition, every year we pick an international project. Examples of past projects include:

  • passing out candy at Ada's Halloween Safe House
  • picking up trash on highway 19 (I realized when I wrote that it didn't sound quite right, may be I should have said picking up litter from beside highway 19. : D )
  • hosting an international cultures awareness program every spring
  • raising money for hurricane relief in Jamaica and St. Lucia
  • raising money for Rotary's Polios Plus Campaign through various events
  • raising money for water filtration systems to help provide clean drinking water to the people of Gracias A Dios, Honduras
  • many, many, more

About Rotaract

R otaract is a Rotary-sponsored service club for young men and women ages 18 to 30. Rotaract clubs are either community or university based, and they’re sponsored by a local Rotary club. This makes them true "partners in service" and key members of the family of Rotary.

As one of Rotary’s most significant and fastest-growing service programs, with more than 7,000 clubs in about 163 countries and geographical areas, Rotaract has become a worldwide phenomenon.

How does it work?

All Rotaract efforts begin at the local, grassroots level, with members addressing their communities’ physical and social needs while promoting international understanding and peace through a framework of friendship and service.
