This is something totally new for me..my own website! I need to tell my nephew Royce, THANKS for helping me get this set-up. Now all I have to do is fill in the blanks. First, a quick introduction to what this page is about, and of course...a little about myself. I am 39 years old...and I am a ROCKHOUND! Of course, that's just my passion and hobby...I am a Sheet Metal Worker by trade, and have been in the trade since 1989. I am a lucky man, and have a wonderful Family. I live in a small town about 30 miles North of Salt Lake...Clinton, Utah. I grew up in an even smaller town about 30 miles North of here...in Willard. The Mountains are amazing in Willard! My passion for rocks probably began when my oldest brother (Mike) and I started exploring those canyons in about 1990. Our initial day hike up one of those canyons, took us on a journey that we never had envisioned. We had heard about old mines being in those mountains, but we had no idea of the amount of mining that took place nor the History that the mountians held within them. That first hike back in 1990....started an 18 year+ journey....that took us up many of the canyons, found us interviewing folks that knew anything about the operations, endless hours at the U of U library searching through microfilm for any articles pertaining to the mines, and endless amounts of rugged exploring and hiking every nook and cranny that we could get to. I still love to explore the area, and I am continuing to do research for any new information that I may stumble on. In my spare time I also LOVE to play with rocks. I recently bought a used Genie, and am really having fun creating cabochons. Too bad I can't do this for a living...but I still Enjoy it Thoroughly.
