| I don't know about you, but I get tired of braving the heat of summer with dozens of "stay cool" recipes. They're so refreshing and exciting at first, when the weather just starts to warm up and all of my patio's potted plants are freshly planted and happy. Though, as summer peaks to the point of "I'm not going out there. Not to grill. Not to pick basil. Not to do anything", I find that I just need to escape to indoors (i.e. air conditioning). So today, with this 106-degree heat index, I have decided to live in denial. I need to pretend like it's crisp and cool outside, and I need some comfort food. Hence, I'm escaping to one of my very favorites (from the best cookbook ever). I call it "Drunken Chicken". But its real name is American Country Chicken with Whiskey Cream Sauce. |
