Coping with the dog days of summer...

posted ‎‎Aug 2, 2008 11:14 AM‎‎ by eChef CEO   [ updated ‎‎Aug 2, 2008 11:24 AM‎‎ ]

I don't know about you, but I get tired of braving the heat of summer with dozens of "stay cool" recipes.  They're so refreshing and exciting at first, when the weather just starts to warm up and all of my patio's potted plants are freshly planted and happy.  Though, as summer peaks to the point of "I'm not going out there.  Not to grill.  Not to pick basil.  Not to do anything", I find that I just need to escape to indoors (i.e. air conditioning).

So today, with this 106-degree heat index, I have decided to live in denial.  I need to pretend like it's crisp and cool outside, and I need some comfort food.  Hence, I'm escaping to one of my very favorites (from the best cookbook ever).  I call it "Drunken Chicken".  But its real name is American Country Chicken with Whiskey Cream Sauce

Make sure to check out the latest addition to my recipe box.  In addition to the basics, "Grilling: Summer & Fall" has some fun dessert and side-dish recipes that you can make when dining al fresco.

eChef on Unclutterer!

You heard it here first!  I'm pleased to say that I will have a guest post on the wonderful Unclutterer blog tomorrow, June 27.  Make sure to head over there and take a peek at the story of the reason that eChef was founded.   After reading the post, you'll finally understand why I have posted my favorite pumpkin recipes in the dead of summer.

It was great to reflect on eChef's progress over the last 3 years and to realize how far I have come with organizing and cultivating my own recipe collection.  I thank Unclutterer for giving me the opportunity to talk about recipe collecting with a new audience, and I encourage you all to frequent their fantastic and helpful blog.

Announcing "eChef after hours..."

posted ‎‎Jun 4, 2008 11:38 AM‎‎ by eChef CEO   [ updated ‎‎Jun 26, 2008 2:22 PM‎‎ ]

Greetings from the CEO of eChef!  I'm pleased to announce the launch of my Google Site titled "eChef after hours..."  This is the place to find my rants/raves about the food industry, download my latest eChef file posts, and even catch a glimpse of what is to come in eChef recipe software.  That last one will depend on how much wine I've had.  The more wine, the more likely I am to spill the beans about some cool secret stuff.

I am so excited about the release of Google Sites, as I believe it can really help all of us eChef-ers share recipes and expand our collections.  I hope that you all will start your own site so that you can share your opinions and food creations with the world.

Happy eChefing!
