Better World Books to date has raised;
 
 
 
 
Better World Books offers a no cost program to help you manage your discarded and donated books. We make the most of your books by selling them on 21 online-marketplaces and sharing the proceeds with you and one of our nonprofit literacy programs.
 
 
  • We take discarded and donated materials and sell them online to generate funding for both libraries and nonprofit literacy initiatives
  • We cover ALL shipping costs (no reimbursement charges!)
  • There are no contracts or service agreements (unless requested)
  • Our unique Prescreen Tool allows you to determine which books to send in order to maximize your return
  • We are a consistent outlet for weeded and donated material including antiquarian, rare and collectable items
  • You get a quarterly commission!
  • Together we share a commitment to the environment—we make sure that your unwanted books never go to landfills

    Books that Better World Accepts:
     

    Our Prescreen Tool, which involves just scanning an ISBN, is the quickest and easiest way to tell if a book should be sent to us. If you’d prefer the old fashioned way, here’s a list explaining what we’re looking for:

    Antiquarian, Rare, and Collectable Books (See ARC Document for more details)

  • Dictionaries and Thesauri
  • DVDs and Books on CD (must be operable include original artwork and casing)
  • Ex-library Copies (do not remove treatments)
  • Gently used Children's Books (especially Newbery Winners)
  • Hardcover Fiction and Nonfiction
  • Mass Market Paperbacks (must be in like new condition with copyright 1980 or newer)
  • Monographs
  • Textbooks (copyright 1998 or newer)
  • Trade Paperbacks
  • Travel Books (copyright within last 5 years)
  • Books Not Accepted

  • Academic Journals or Literary Criticisms
  • Activity Books (coloring, crossword, etc.)
  • Books Published by Magazines
  • Case Law and Procedural Law Books
  • Custom Course Packets
  • Directories or Telephone Books
  • Encyclopedia Britannica, World Book, or Incomplete Sets
  • LP Records, VHS Tapes, Cassettes, or CDs
  • Open Software Sets
  • Periodicals or Magazines (i.e. National Geographic, TV Guides)
  • Tax or Government Documents
  • Book Club Editions
  • Harlequin Romance Novels
  • The Modern Library Series
  • Reader’s Digest Condensed
  • Marquis Who’s Who

     NOT accepted are any books in the following condition:
    • Dirty
    • Moldy
    • Water Damaged
    • Damaged Binding or Pages
    • Missing Covers or Pages
    • Excessive Writing, Markings, or Highlighting
    • Cut Out Library Treatments
    • Warped (softcover books)
