ORGANIC GARDENING

Organic Gardening is natural gardening where fruit, flowers and vegetables are grown without the use of synthetic chemicals. Soil fertility is created by composting and manuring, while natural checks and balances control pests.

With members from Havering to Hackney, East London Organic Gardeners (ELOG) aims to help local gardeners learn about organic gardening.

We also offer advice to members, run the very successful Apple Day at Vestry House Museum in Walthamstow, and an annual seed exchange.

ELOG is affiliated to Garden Organic which researches, demonstrates and campaigns for environmentally safe gardening. It runs Ryton Gardens near Coventry and the organic kitchen garden at Audley End, not far from Stansted airport, where chemical free methods can be seen.
