Critiques Requirements
Part 1: FORMAT___________________55 pts.
1 One full page in length – 10 pts. 2 Essay format (Six Traits of Writing) – 20 pts. 3 1.5 spaced – 5 pts. 4 12 point New Times Roman font – 5 pts. 5 Black ink – 5 pts. 6 Word Processed/typed – 5 pts. 7 One-inch-margins (top, bottom, left, right) – 5 pts.
Part 2: MECHANICS______________20_pts. 1 Punctuation (commas, periods, colons, capital letters, apostrophes) – 10 pts. 2 Spelling (no excuses) – 10 pts.
Part 3: CONTENT_________________25 pts. Honest and insightful critiques of Concerts and/or Project Presentations. This writing is required for proper evaluation from the learner’s point of view. Opinion and logical process are necessary in order to properly evaluate performances. You have to be specific describing performers’ technique and musicality. Vagueness and “general” comments such as “…it was good/cool, I liked it…” are not satisfactory commentaries. TOTAL______________/100
IMPORTANT: To receive a full credit for the critique, student has to submit the proof of the concert attendance such as concert program or ticket (receipt/proof of purchase, etc.) that has to be stapled to the critique. No other formats such as cell phone pictures, T-shirts, hand stamps, flyers, announcements, e-mails from parents will be accepted. If no proof of attendance submitted, the critique is worth 60 % only. No substitution for Concert critique is available. |
