Farewell from the 09-10 Eastern Region Student Representative

By Christopher Wike, Alumni Epsilon Chapter (graduate of Clarion University of Pennsylvania, Rho Iota Chapter), Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, PA

It feels like not so very long ago that I was first introducing myself to you as the new Eastern Region Student Representative, but now the time has come for me to bid a fond farewell. I can now see that a year is really no time at all when you’re having fun. Serving as the Eastern Region Student Representative has been an amazing experience in every sense. I cannot even begin to enumerate all that I have learned while putting together newsletters, responding to emails, working with the other student leaders, and serving on Sigma Tau Delta’s Board of Directors. As your Student Representative, I have also had the opportunity to meet many wonderful individuals, many of whom I am sure I will not soon forget. I would like to thank all those who have made this past year a successful and enjoyable one for me. Although I must leave the position of Eastern SR, I rest assured that I leave it in able hands: Sean Cullen will be an excellent SR, and I am sure he will have wonderful ideas for the East in the coming year. I would also like to welcome Glen Brewster from Westfield State College as our Region’s new Regent and Marta Paczkowska as the incoming Associate SR. My best wishes to all three of our Region’s new leaders. In closing, it has been my honor to serve the Eastern Region and Sigma Tau Delta. I can truthfully say that it has been one of the most fulfilling professional experiences thus far in my life. I hope to see you all at the 2011 International Convention in Pittsburgh!
