By Karen Masnica, Duquesne University While most Duquesne students were still sleeping at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday, members of the Duquesne University Pi Delta Chapter were in Oakland volunteering for the Greater Pittsburgh Literacy Council. For the past two years, the GPLC has sponsored a trivia bowl as a fund-raiser for the organization. Pi Delta members helped set up chairs and tables and organized each team’s table to make sure all teams had the necessary materials during the competition. Students from Chatham University’s Alpha Delta Lambda Chapter joined in the afternoon and enjoyed volunteering at their first GPLC event alongside Duquesne University's chapter. Both chapters will be working together on a few projects in the future and will be proudly representing both universities at the convention in Pittsburgh next spring. |
