Cummins Rocky Mount Engine Plant is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer.

 

Minimum Requirements (Experience, Education, Skills):

                                                                             

·         BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering plus 5 years experience

·         Project Management skills

·         Problem solving capabilities using analytical tools

·         Demonstrated ability to determine cause and effect of variables associated with manufacturing processes

·         Working knowledge of quality tools (e.g. Quality Function Deployment, Pareto Analysis, Root Cause Analysis and Problem Solving Methods, Design of Experiments, 5S, plus Safety and Ergonomics, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, Design for Assembly, Design for Six Sigma

·         Excellent oral and written communication skills

 

Specific Role Responsibilities:

 

·         Support ATPUK operations with processing and equipment issues

·         Support design and installation of new equipment to meet quality and cycle time requirements

·         Lead cross functional teams in problem solving and improvement activities

·         Develop, implement, follow, maintain, and improve processes, practices and standards

·         Support development of production process for new products

·         Lead project work dictated by business needs

·         Serve as a mentor/coach

 

Other Work Demands:

 

An employee in this position must be able to lift one to forty-five pounds frequently and seventy-five pounds or more infrequently with assistance; employee must be able to wear hearing protection, interpret information by using visual acuity, hearing and speaking, gross and fine motor skills; work eight hours or more frequently and work rotating shifts.  The nature of work in this area is not conducive for individuals with respiratory conditions.

 

Additional Comments:

 

Travel required:  Approx. 5%

Mechanical or Industrial Masters Degree preferred

Experience in engine testing is a plus

Experience in automated painting processes is a plus

Zachry Engineering Corporation is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer for the Charlotte, NC location.

Responsibilities:

                                                                             

·         Plans, organizes and supervise the work of a staff of engineers, other professionals and technicians.  As a Licensed Professional Engineer, seals and signs all documentation produced by own work.  May also seal and sign work done by engineers under direct supervision.

·         Performs studies, preparation of specifications, evaluation of proposals, and development of estimates.  Provides recommendations for purchase of electrical system components.

·         Direct technical services personnel in the proper execution of drawings for electrical systems to which assigned.  Examines electrical drawings for completeness, detail, and accuracy as peer reviewer.  Checks manufactures’ prints and coordinates between these and Zachry Engineering drawings.

·         Maintains a thorough, current knowledge of new and innovative techniques in the electrical engineering field. Technically knowledgeable in specific areas of responsibility to the degree of preparing and providing training for other personnel.

·         Serves as a representative of Zachry Engineering when responsible for check-out, start-up, and tests of new or retrofitted electrical systems and provide for supervision of certain field engineering staff.

 

Requirements:

 

·         Bachelor's Degree in electrical engineering from an accredited engineering degree program.

·         Minimum of ten (10) years electrical engineering experience in operation, maintenance, or design in power, industrial process, mining, other related industries.

·         Experience leading project teams in the completion of large engineering projects preferred.

·         Licensed Professional Engineer by exam.

·         Occasional periods of field/office work entailing travel. May be required to work in an office, as well as an industrial plant environment.

There is an opening for a temporary employee at NCSU that is not quite an engineer, but along similar lines.

 

The position will evaluate, review and make recommendations regarding repairs and efficiency improvements on existing mechanical systems, will work with a team of architectural and engineering technicians to evaluate the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. Candidate must be proficient in reviewing blueprints, schematics and project drawings to interpret data.

 

Pay Rate: $22/hr                                                                                                                                                     

 

Schedule: 7am-3:30pm
