League One

Exeter 2 : 1 Sheffield Wednesday

The fans went home singing after a dramatic home win.

It was a sunny afternoon, and the Grecianettes entertained the crowd before the match.

City faced the Big Bank in the first half.  Taylor threatened the Wednesday goal.

Bauza kept the defence busy.

Dunne and Bauza work a move.

It took four defenders to stop Dunne.

Dunne threatens again.

But all the goals were in the second half.  The ball bounced into Jermaine Johnson's path and he put Wednesday into the lead, but City struck back with two stunning set piece kicks to clinch the match.

Paul Tisdale visits the EDG's

More than 70 fans of all ages came to Sidmouth to listen to manager Paul Tisdale's views and comments.

Kim and Christine Scratchley represent the EDG's at the under-18 matches at the Cat & Fiddle. They provide tea, coffee, hot choc, and milk out their own pockets, and Christine bakes a cake every week. To date Kim has raised almost £300 and still counting.  Kim is seen above presenting at cheque to Simon Haywood, head of City's School of Excellence. The U-18 team are playing next Friday 17th at Colchester in their semi-final cup match. The cheque for £250 has been presented by EDG to help pay for the transport to Colchester and the youngsters are being treated to the use of City's 1st team coach.

Congratulations to EDG's Sue and Lewis who will be getting married shortly.

At the Charlton match The EDG's stepped into a gap at the last minute to run the bucket collection, and we collected £691.31, more than double the normal amount! Well done Bernadette, Terry and Hazel Bound, Eric Pidgeon, Rose and Gillian Summers, John and Di Lee, Gareth Hughes, Dave Jones, Andy Bratt, Ray Silcox, Adrian Spartan, Helen Barlow, Martin Weiler, Nicky Netherway.

Their efforts didn't go un-noticed:

I cannot stress what this means to the medical dept and to me personally. Thank you EDG! Neil

Thank you to you and everyone connected with East Devon Grecians! I really appreciate all your continued efforts, somehow finding cash even in the present climate! The ultrasound machine is on the cutting edge of sports medicine. I can assure you all that there won't be many teams with one of these including premier ship clubs! It will make the difference between our players playing or missing games and that is the best way I can think of to truly support our team. So a very big thank you to everyone that is concerned with the EDG's. Ian Andrews.

I think our supporters like to see faces they know doing the bucket collections it's very reassuring…it was for me anyway. As ever a great bit of organisation that led to a great success….Many many thanks, Taggy

That’s a great outcome! Far, far higher than average. Thanks to the EDGs once again! Andy Gillard

You optimise the great spirit which runs through our fantastic football club. David Evans

Di shakes the bucket, while EDG Treasurer Ian Emerson digs deep...Hang on Ian, you're supposed to be putting cash in!

Andy Gillard receives a cheque for £500 from Elaine Davis, seen at the Walsall match with GG pledger Nick Rendle.

Grecian Goal, from Elaine Davis:

Many thanks for your pledge cheques and bank transfers which have been arriving almost daily. We now have £600 banked with a few more pledges still to arrive. This is a fantastic achievement considering our scoring record and place in the table, and is a result of your generosity. Thank you everyone.

We will be handing over a cheque for £550 for the floodlight repairs at half time on Saturday. I hope you agree this is the correct figure - I want to keep a little in the bank to give us a headstart for our final push till the end of the season, especially if goals remain so scarce.

I would really like some company on the pitch as we hand over the cheque to Andy Gillard. Grecian Goal is about all of us, not just me. We'll meet at the old dugouts in front of the Flybe at the start of
halftime - we'll be on before the littl'uns penalty shootout. So, if you're willing please let me know or just come down to the dugouts at half time.

I'm waiting to hear from the Club if they have any urgent targets they need our help with, in the
meantime let's hope for a lucrative afternoon on Saturday, as that will mean points on the board too.

Thanks again my fellow pledgers - UTC!

Elaine.
