About he Author

Dennis Brooks has been studying earth’s magnetic field off and on for about thirty- five years.  In the late 1960’s he studied the relationship between an electromagnetic field and earth’s magnetic field, and found that they were the same type.  Since then he has been trying to describe the relationship in terms that students can understand, including those in middle school and high school.

This website explains the magnetic field in the simplest terms.

Dedicated to Dr. James A. Van Allen the man who started it all.

Acknowledgments

Thanks to the many scientists and researchers who have made contributions to this area of science.  Without the work of people like Dr. James A. Van Allen, Isaac Asimov, and Ladislaw Reday, I would not have been able to make such a bold statement.  Of course, NASA has made it possible for me to collect and analyze this valuable information with the help of images. I hope that this book will encourage scientists to study other possible sources for Earth’s dynamo along with the internal dynamo theory.

Also, I would like to give a special thanks to Susan Brooks, my wife, who helped with typing and proofreading.
