Rene's Unproof of Newtonian Gravity: "Using the Newtonian Formula, the listed gravitational constant and the accepted masses, and distances of Sun, Earth & Moon, I found that during New Moon, the Sun's attraction for the Moon is almost three times that of the Earth. Therefore, once every month the Moon, obeying the stronger force, should cease orbiting the Earth and head toward the Sun. It doesn't!" Ralph Rene 2. "Does he provide the calculations . . . If the Moon does not comply, then he may have made a mistake. Why only at New Moon? That is where the story becomes unhinged." 3. ( answer to #2 above ) "The point about the New Moon is that the Moon is between the Earth and the sun . . . The gravitational forces from the Sun at the Moons location cannot be said to be “balanced" with the Earth at New Moon. Attempting to incorporate the concept of "barycenter" only worsens the problem . . . Why? . . . The Earth itself is supposedly balanced with the Sun and the rest of the mass in the universe in a "fixed" path wrt the Sun not a common orbit with the Moon. Appealing to a “barycenter” of the Earth/Moon system does not help nor apply because the Earth cannot be said to be in a common orbit of and with the Moon . . . .Why? . . . The Earth is in a “fixed” orbit of the Sun and the Moon must orbit the Earth. There is a difference between a barycenter of common orbit and an orbiting body around another body who’s path is fixed. The Moon and Earth cannot be said to be in a common orbit around each other because the Earth’s path is “fixed”, as such the Earth/Moon system would be highly unstable - not even capable of making one complete “stable” orbit of the Moon around the Earth. The Earth is “fixed” in a given path wrt the Sun and all background mass. The Moon must orbit the Earth even in HC mechanics without a real barycenter as such . . . but wait . . . the tides change the Earth’s center of mass hence the Earth/Moon barycenter right? . . . That only exacerbates the problem not solve it . . . Why? . . . To say only the tides and not the Earth as a whole is affected in some kind of common orbit around each and/or creates the new barycenter of the Earth/Moon system only takes us back to the tides and inertial paradoxes. This is particularly true since for a barycenter to hold as a valid explanation, the Earth as a whole not just in part must move around the barycenter for there to be a or any “stable” Earth/Moon orbit around the sun. The tides would and now prevent any explanation for why or how the Earth’s accelerations in free fall around the sun cannot be detected. All that makes Newtonian gravity in HC Mechanics unstable and cannot explain the Earth/Moon system period."
