Hello my name is Amanda Denton. I have always loved babies and trained as a nursery nurse in 1996 before becoming a nanny and a maternity nurse later in my career. 

My interest in becoming a doula grew when I read an article in the news a few years ago. I knew at that moment I wanted to become a birth doula and postnatal doula. I am now a recognised and certified birth doula and postnatal doula with Doula UK, which is a network of doulas run by doulas. I have attained the Doula UK. I trained as a birth doula and postnatal doula with Nurturing Birth.

Since becoming a birth doula I have had the privilege in attended homebirths, hospital births, waterbirths and birth centre births. As a postnatal doula I have helped many clients in there transition to parenthood as first, second and third  time parents and parents of twins.

I feel very passionate about being a birth doula and postnatal doula. It is my sincere passion which reflects in my work ethos. It is such a rewarding position to be in. I would like to help more parents have a positive experience of birth and early parenting through supporting them as a birth doula, postnatal doula or both.
