Monthly Update:
October 25, 2011: Woohooo!!!!! Our iPads have finally arrived! We are currently in the getting-to-know-you phase with our new technology. As part of our College Fair Project in Physics 1, we are learning how to use the iPads to access gmail and Google Docs, to access Dropbox and to create documents in Pages and Keynote (Apple equivalents to Word and PowerPoint). Each student has been assigned one iPad that they will use throughout the year. We are just about to commence fundraising in order to raise money to purchase protective cases and AppleCare for our new technology. More on that asap.
Students: You can access your iPad's
Gmail account, GoogleDocs and GoogleCalendar from home or any other location.
Each iPad has its own gmail account that is in the form of :
Username: nhsipad1@gmail.com (change the number to match your iPad). Password: Ad@ms.12
Background Information:As part of a research project in conjunction with the University of Colorado's School of Education and the Streamline to Mastery Professional Development Program, and with the help of CU doctoral student, Ben Van Dusen, and our principal, Dr. Mary Lindimore, our classroom received funding to purchase a class set of iPads. We will be implementing this new technology in order to enhance our understanding of physics, as well as to develop 21st-Century technology skills that will be useful in high school and beyond.
