Please pay in Ankh-Morpork dollars wherever possible. Most members will happily accept Lancrastian, Genuan and Djelian currency and a few members will even accept Rhinu. By and large though dollars are simply easier to deal with. In addition, please do not use the smaller currency forms of pence, ptascpi, saveloy-rhinu, etc. The extra weight from 500 pence can mean as much as 5% extra burden for someone with low strength.
There are a very few specific locations which, due to their remoteness or the inherent danger of the area, attract premium rates. The more dangerous of these locations also have a minimum travel age. Any location not listed as a Special Location attracts the standard five dollar fare.

Newbie rates.
You are considered a Newbie if you are under 18 hours old. This is the point at which you lose the Newbie channel. Newbies may travel for freeon any trip that would otherwise cost 5 dollars.
Newbie rates only apply if they point out their age. Newbie rates do not apply for transport on the 'Courageous Courier' quest.
