Internet Safety

There are many great things about using the Internet and technology. We use it for research, to keep in touch with friends and family, and to create new media that we can share with others. As we study responsible technology use and Internet safety, we know that along with access to the World Wide Web and technology we also have a responsibility to share our understanding of what it takes to be smart technology users with others.

Younger students need to understand what it takes to be a smart technology user. Your task for this project is to create a multimedia presentation that includes (but is not limited to) a PowerPoint presentation and a brochure to communicate to an audience of younger students about how to make good Internet and technology choices.  Your audience will be middle school students (and possibly younger) who do not yet know how to be a smart Internet and technology user.  You will practice presenting your project in class and then present to other students in the school. You will probably be given an Internet or technology safety topic by the teacher.

Additional projects may include:
-creating a public service announcement
-creating a comic or poster
-other presentation or product approved by the teacher
