    • To create a DVD see this instructional video from the Apple site.
    • To save your movie for your media player, go to Share -> Send to iTunes. Select the movie size that will work for the player you wish to save it to, then click Publish. Your movie will be sent to iTunes and it will open in a few minutes.  See the teacher about transferring your movie.

Today's Objective:  Students will be able to construct a storyboard to organize for an Internet Safety PSA.

Period 6

  • Get your Seatbelt Safety Storyboard from the substitute (on my desk in the period 6 folder) and finish it today. When you finish, you can hand in your storyboard and go on to #2 below. Also, please listen to the substitute teacher,  Ms. Torres and Ms. Beckley for other instructions.
Period 2, 3, & 7
  1. Please hand in your Seatbelt Safety Storyboard if you took it home to finish.
  2. Choose an Internet Safety Topic from this list for another storyboard you will create on your own.
  3. Draw your own boxes or use the storyboard template on the bookshelf in front of my desk.
  4. Remember that you need a slogan that the viewers will remember in your PSA
  5. Keep to one Internet Safety Topic.
  6. Here are the list of Internet Safety Topics you can choose from:
Cyberbullying topics (stop, block, & tell):
  • sending threatening emails or texts to someone
  • sending embarrassing photos or threatening texts from cell phones
  • harassing another player in an online interactive game
  • creating a hate page

The Internet and the World Wide Web is a place with many great resources and learning opportunities, however there are also people who use the Internet to harm others. In this unit we will answer these questions and learn to stay safe online:

Net Smart Assignment

Goal:  Use what you have learned so far about being a smart Internet user to create a comic and email it to your teacher (and yourself if you like.)

Process:  Use the Internet safety problem you are assigned as the start of your comic. Have the characters you choose show how they think “Net-Smart” when solving their problem. Have the characters talk with each other and show how they solve the problem using the talk bubbles in the program.  This online comic creator only allows you to save the final project as an email, so email the teacher your final comic.  You can also email the final comic to yourself if you have an email as well.  Be sure to put your name and title on the comic before sending it.   2. You will receive a paper that describes how computers are connected to each other through a network. Please skim through both sides of the paper while you wait for everyone to finish the quiz and highlight or underline these words:

      • These words are not in the reading, but you will need to write them in your notebook along with the definition:
      1. server - provides or "serves" information to other computers. Click for more information on servers.
      2. WAN (wide area network) - a large computer network (over a large geographic area and many buildings) Click for more information on WANs.
      3. LAN (local area network) - small computer network (in one building) Click for more information on LANs.
  3. Open Inspiration on your computer and create a new Inspiration map.  Save it in your folder with your name_network. You are going to create a network for your dream technology classroom. We will continue to work on it over the next two days.
