Networks

In this assignment, you will create a diagram of your computer network for your "dream" classroom or school. How would you connect the computers to the Internet?  What peripherals (printers, scanners, etc.) would you add to the network? Use Inspiration to create your plan.  Be ready to explain why you networked the way you did!

1.  You will receive a paper that describes how computers are connected to each other through a network. We will go over this in class. Please skim through both sides of the paper and highlight or underline these words:    
    1. network
    2. Internet
    3. routerwireless router video explanation
    4. packets
Write these words at the bottom of the paper along with their defintions:
      1. server - provides or "serves" information to other computers. Click for more information on servers.
      2. WAN (wide area network) - a large computer network (over a large geographic area and many buildings) Click for more information on WANs.
      3. LAN (local area network) - small computer network (in one building) Click for more information on LANs.
      4. Here is an example of a star network.
2.  Open Inspiration on your computer and create a new Inspiration map.  Save it in your folder with your name_network. You are going to create a network for your dream technology classroom. 

3.  Export your dream network as a PDF file and then save to a USB.

  3. Check folder - make sure you have saved your network design to your folder.
