First Year Experience

Go confidently in the direction of your dreams, live the life you have imagined.  -henry david thoreau

Looking back on the past two years here at Clemson, there are things I regret not doing and things I'm glad I did.

I am so glad that I decided to live on campus my freshmen and sophomore year. They were both great experiences and I would not trade them for anything. I highly recommend living on campus and going pot luck for your roommate (at least your freshmen year). I met so many great girls my freshmen year when I lived in the residence hall. I met even more people my sophomore year when I lived in one of the upper-classmen residence halls. These are connections that I will have for the rest of my life.

Something I regret is not being more active in club and organization life on campus. I have a job on top of school work so I guess I thought I would be so overwhelmed and wouldn't be able to give 100% if I joined any organizations on campus, so I opted out. My second year I decided that I was going to become more involved and that is what I did. You find your nitch and you go for it, I'm not saying join every club on campus but do join what interests you. There are so many opportunites out there to get invovled.

Another thing that I am so happy that I did was becoming an Orientation Ambassador. I love Clemson and I wanted to share my love and experiences with new students coming to campus. What better way to do that then be an Ambassador? I have the chance to meet a lot of new parents and students and share a real sense of what it's like to be apart of the Clemson family. The experience I will have this summer will stay with me for the rest of my life.
