2/1/11: Decided to brew this weekend, need to decide what will be my first brew in San Antonio!!!

1/31/11: Found this about my ProAm IPA that I brewed at Hanger 24, 3.85/5 that's higher then some popular commercial IPAs!!!!... :  http://www.ratebeer.com/beer/hangar-24-pro-am-2010-ipa/128213/

12/19/10:  Moved back to San Antonio, TX to see what kind of beer trouble I can get into there... ": )

 12/14/10:  Won two 1st's (EIPA & Robust Porter) and a 3rd (Mild) at the 2010 Dickens Fair Best-of-Brew Competition to end the year out!  BOS Honorable mentions for the Porter and IPA!!!  Updated metal count for this year:  64 ribbons, 6 BOS  !!!

 11/5/10:  California State Homebrewers Competition BOS for my Wiezenbock!!!

 7/28/10:  Lots of things happening.  Comps have kept me super busy.   Won BOS at Hanger24 and brewed my beer with them on a Pro system!  Ck out the pictures!

 1/11/10:  New year, updated current brews.

11/2/09:  Added an "Awards Won" section.

10/10/09: Just found out I won "Best of Show" for my Weizenbock at the Mad Zymurgists Oaktoberfest Homebrew Competition!!!  wOOt!!! I also got a 3rd place for my Dusseldorf Altbier.

10/7/09: Getting ready to brew up a  Stout and Xmas Brew this weekend

 9/5/09:  I won 3rd place with my Koelsch in the Oregon State Fair Homebrew 

 8/31/09: I won 2nd Imperial Stout, 3rd Koelsch, 3rd American IPA in MoreBeer.com Homebrew competition!!!

7/13/09:  I won 1st place with one my beers in the Amador County Fair Homebrew contest!!!  First try!  The beer that did it was my Imperial Stout named A.S.S.

  • Bourbon Vanilla Imperial Porter - Sounds delicious!!!  10%ABV

Brewing Gear

  • Lots of Stainless steel pots from 5 to 13gal pots.  Blickmann pots for brewing mostly.
  • One 6.5gal and two 5gal *glass* carboys (only broke two so far with no injures!!!--knock on glass or is that wood?) for fermenting
  • 18-5gal, 2-3gal, and 3-10gal cornelius kegs (old soda kegs) with 20lb CO2 bottle with triple regulators for serving the kegged brew.  Three (3) 5lb CO2 bottles for off site consuming.
  • Two 14gal Tuff-Tank  grain vessels.  Used to store bags of base grain.
  • Tons of jugs that hold 5lbs of specialty grains.
  • Two chest frigs (one holds 10 cornies and one holds 2 cornies for lagering)
  • Tons of hoses, bottles, gadgets, water salts, misc spices, hops, yeast, etc.
  • Homemade brew system.  Ck out the pictures of it being built:  building Brewzilla
