I am a Research Staff Member at IBM Research. My research focuses primarily on representation and learning about cause and effect. This includes how people, from small children to medical doctors, think about causes, and also how computers might use the same representations.  Right now I'm researching how we can take Watson, the IBM computer that recently showed a strong performance on Jeopardy!, and use it to help doctors make better decisions about cause and effect.
