The technique, called support vector machines (SVM), is a new and promising method for data classification and regression . The main difference between this technique and traditional regression techniques is that it uses the Structural Risk Minimization and not the Empirical Risk Minimization induction principle. The problem is a convex quadratic programming problem. So there are no nonglobal minima, and the problem is readily solvable using quadratic programming techniques. Now, the SVM technique is comprehensively used in time series forecasting and pattern recognition etc.
Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) studies artificial systems that take inspiration from the behavior of real ant colonies and which are used to solve discrete optimization problems. I applied ACO methodology for optimally clustering N objects into K clusters to find the optimally center of clusters.
