Cincinnati Chili - crockpot


2 pounds of ground beef
salt

1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
2 onions, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
2 Tbsp chili powder
2 tsp dried oregano
1 tsp unsweetened cocoa powder (seeing this a lot lately)
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp allspice
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper

1 (15 oz) can kidney beans, rinsed and drained (I may use 2)

Garnish: cheddar cheese and chopped green onions

In a large skillet, brown the ground beef, season with some salt, and drain the fat off.

Add the meat to the crockpot along with 2 cups of water and
everything else except the beans.

Cover and cook on low for 5 to 7 hours.

Add the beans and cook 1 hour longer.
Stir in an additional 1/2 cup of water if too dry.

Don't forget to cook your noodles.

Put the noodles into a bowl, ladle some chili over them
and top with cheese and green onions.
