The Teen Career Academy
at the Durham Literacy Center
This program is specifically designed to help out-of-school youth ages 16-18 attain their General Education Development (GED) diploma and improve basic literacy skills. All services and instruction are free.

Location: Classes are now held at the Emily K Center at 904 W. Chapel Hill Street, Durham, NC 27701.
Pre-GED and GED Classes: Based on individual reading level assessments, students will be divided into GED and Pre-GED (reading comprehension) streams.
Referrals: Interested students who are 18 or older should contact Durham Technical Community College at (919) 686 3636. Durham Tech has both a GED program and an Adult High School program.
