Our Impact ![]() On May 9, 2012, the DLC's Teen Career Academy was awarded the Durham System of Care High School Award at the Making a Difference for Durham Families Awards Breakfast. The TCA provides motivated Durham youth with an opportunity to earn a GED diploma while learning valuable career skills and giving back to the larger Durham community through community service projects. This spring, our TCA students have pledged to spend 300 hours at 3 Habitat for Humanity sites, building permanent homes for Durham families. One of the new home owners benefiting from their hard work is a DLC ESOL student, Lal Thang Mawi, who is originally from Myanmar (Burma)! Check back for more information and photos. What You Can Do
