WOMEN’S ORGANIZATION REPORT May 2009
Thanks to the generosity of the congregation, we had a very successful Bakeless Bake Sale collecting approximately (it continues to grow) $337. This will help us keep retreat ticket prices at $25 and make scholarships available.
We are planning our summer program in a way that will accommodate teachers and others who are home in the summer. Our next study will begin June 9 and feature The Bible Is a Girl’s Best Friend by Sally Miller, our retreat leader.
Our quarterly program will be an outing to Rotary Gardens on August 4.
The gift bags we gave to all residents at Medina Nursing Home were gratefully received.
Un-Birthday Gifts for Medina Residets! Thank you for your help!
Lotions, Handkerchiefs, Stationary, Pens/Pencils, Pins to wear on dresses/lapels, Kleenex/puffs, Puzzle books (crossword or word search),
--- WOMEN’S ORGANIZATION REPORT April 28, 2009 On March 31 we had a lovely luncheon with the ladies from Burritt Methodist Church. It was good to make new friends and we plan to have additional events together in the future. We have recently concluded The Friendships of Women book study and will begin our new study on May 5 entitled Learning Conversational Prayer by Rosalind Rinker. This will be an 6-8 week study to not just learn about conversational prayer from an intellectual point of view but to experience individual and group conversational prayer. Saturday, April 25 we plan to packaged our donations to the residents of Medina Nursing Home. We hope these items will make life a little easier and more enjoyable for those in residence there. We had enough donated to fill a bag for every resident. Such a generous church we have! On April 28 we had an outing to Freeport for breakfast. Our Bakeless Bake Sale will take place on Sunday, May 3. Proceeds from this event will help offset expenses of our retreat including scholarships. Girl Talk God Talk continues to grow in faith and in numbers. We look forward to continuing our fellowship and study throughout the spring and summer. In fact, we’re hoping to attract some teachers for the summer when they have time off.
