This section lists books, movies, games, etc that I personally think are of high-value, but seem to have slip under the mass-market radar.

Fiction Books

• The Temeraire series.  An interesting mash-up of the Napoleonic War and dragons.
  

Games

• Anno 1701 (aka 1701 A.D.)  Probably the best city building game to  come out in the past several years.
  
• Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria.  A Japanese-style RPG for the PS2.
