Dunlewey Stud

Kieran Guinness and his family, have bred the Connemara for many years bringing a succession of stallions to Dunlewey, in the  mountains of north-west County Donegal. These have included Dunlewey Sonny Jim (690) by Rebel Wind, Milford Siskin (788) by Tulira Kieran and Stradbally Bill (900) by Abbeyleix Fionn.  The Dunlewey prefix is now to be found far and wide as ponies have gone out from the stud to distant parts.  Some have found fame in the hunting field and in the show ring. The current stud sire is Ashfield Plover, with Dunlewey Rigmarole and Dunlewey Goshawk following on.  Dunlewey Rigmarole is at present in Wiltshire  on a foray with English mares but may return before long.  He is one of the last foals from the lovely Killyreagh Kim mare Roussalka
