Software Download

shartak_fast_gps-30.user.js

30+: map update, shaman positions no longer shown

29+: handle the new GPS display, disabled the non-working run mode

28+: toggle the orange crosses display

27+: get the shaman positions lists (it's not automatic, you have to click the button) and show their positions in the map

26+: "run" button to walk 3 steps with 1 click

23+: map updated, script version shown in the bottom left part of the map

Features

For version 23:

  • fixed height attack box as I found it annoying to have to move my mouse during fights :-)
  • the map appears when your mouse goes above your GPS unit in your inventory
  • distances to the camp are shown when a GPS signal is available
  • quickly show map when the mouse goes above your GPS unit
  • weekly checks for script updates
  • display shartak camps positions

Credits: the nice map comes from Shartak UBER MAP project.

WHAT'S SHARTAK ?

In Shartak, you start either as a Native or as an Outsider (who may be a "plain" Outsider or a Pirate [arrr]). As you gain experience, you will learn new skills.

MAPPING ?

As it's mysterious, players have to explore it. As a result, there are several Shartak-mapping projects underway :

  • Shartak UBER MAP project: it's available as a Greasemonkey user script - the drawback is that you have to own a GPS unit
  • Shartak Metamap: there's also a Greasemonkey user script available to toggle the display in the 'Map' menu
  • And my own flavor: Shartak Fast GPS, see the left panel on this page.

SHARTAK Fast GPS

What is a "corner" ?

 Position A

 Position B

The first two snapshots are taken in position A. The last two ones are taken in position B. B is 1 block north-west from A. Basically when you pass a cross, your coordinates change in the map.

If you have a better word than "corner" I'd appreciate getting it ('corner' is more meaningful than 'thingie' but not that much :-)

ME, MYSELF, AND I (or, my characters)

If you happen to stumble upon my characters, feel free to say hi (and not kill'em :-) They are peaceful, but if you attack them, they may have a grudge and will probably seek revenge. Nowadays, they are busy exploring the unknown and healing travelers.

  • Josh Green: 34th (/35) level warrior - native from Wiksik (fear my low id 46 :-)

  • Quaker Bob: 32nd (/33) level explorer - outsider from Derby
