KinderCamp

To help all Oberlin children start out on a path toward excellence, kindergarten teacher Angela Padilla and preschool teacher Cheryl Lawrie created a six week half-day transition-to-kindergarten summer program open to all children residing in the Oberlin School District.  This program is significantly more structured than preschool, but the low, 8-1 ,student-to-teacher ratio, not only allows for individualized instruction, it also makes it more fun and challenging for the children.  All program teachers will have experience working in the Oberlin schools with either preschool or Kindergarten children.  Each three hours session focuses on a particular letter and includes snack, recess, instruction, a craft activity and structured play.  Being physically located at Oberlin’s K-2 school allows the teachers to familiarize the children with specific school rules and helps them become comfortable with the school campus.
