Week one
Today was another shopping day (well - sort of). Gail had an appointment in Providence, Rhode Island, so we parked near Brown University, where she is studying, teaching, whatever . . and walked into a Starbucks while we waited. Then we went for a stroll along Wayland Street, which is pretty much devoid of those large shops you see in every other town and city across America (and parts of Europe). So that was interesting. I bought a beret! A red beret - which will match my winter walking coat. We had a huge lunch (Sharon and I shared, so it wasn't as huge as it could have been) and then took a drive out to Target - where I bought my shaver parts (a must on this journey). The evenings are really nice here, as they have a screen-porch out the back. Although unlit, it does mean that we can sit out: eat and drink, for as long as we like. If the weaher is nice enough (and it is!) why not? |
