Tuesday

week one

Tuesday 25th July 2006.

Yesterday we went 'shopping'. This was a tiresome exercise - lots of 'stuff' but nothing of substance - maybe next time?

I'm not big on shopping, but the girls seemed to have a great urge to get it out of their system. I'd tagged along in the hope that I could pick up new blades for my shaver (bought over here two years ago) and hoped it would be marginally ok. Not! When they decided to do more shopping post lunch - I declined and stayed home with my book by the pool. We had lunch just up the road a few miles in Puttnam - a town which seems to have nothing in it except restaurants, antique shops and a station. Cute but small.

The pool at Gail's is fairly small (15' diameter) but very welcome, as we've decided to just hang about for a few days relaxing - before doing more 'stuff'. So these days might be a bit tiresome - sorry. They've popped out again today for some food shopping (for lunch) which has given me the time to write this.

I actually thought I'd fried my phone yesterday! I got out of the pool to find it had been in the sun and it was very very poorly. Nothing I could do would make it work - but a new day, a problem solved. It's working ok now (fingers crossed).
