Week one
Actually, now that it has worked for a couple of days, I can actually say what had happend to my phone on day one, (see home page text). I'd fried it in the sun! I hadn't realised that it was out of the shade when I went in the pool that day and when I got out it had boiled! The Nokia was ok - but the newer W800i was very unahppy. Phew - close call. Also: | We have decided that today will be one of rest and recuperation (suits me - no shopping). We will potter around all morning, wander down to Danielson for lunch and to partake of the 'Thursday' festivities they have planned and then maybe pop out to a cool, relaxing Cinema for the 'hot' late afternoon movie - Pirates of the Carribean. So I've have a tootle around the area on Jamie's bike and floated in the pool for a while cooling down. The rest of the day is in disarray however as Betony has been marched off to the Clinic, where the disgusting mess on her face (well - cold sore or something) will be diagnosed. Which sounds better than some of the witchcraft she has hitherto been subjected to. Hopefully she will come back with instructions, drugs and a clean (ish) bill of health. Well, that didn't happen. They were gone for almost four hours and came back $36 lighter and the news that Betz has impetigo. Worse than that, the prescription was $60! So much for teenagers kissing teenagers. Betz's finger is rotting too and the suspicious scabs on the back of her hand are taking a while to heal. So now, she is forbidden to use the pool or even sit at the same dinner table as us! So much for aving the day planned? |
