trellis process "life in a garden" is a phase of larger design paradigm: "Landing" - architectural catalysts for indigenous culture. the idea of landing is that archtiectural tools are set within a site to enable the continual reduction of the area from which resources are drawn to survive and thrive. the idea is that a technological system beyond that of the petroleum era might coniside with a quality of living found within the most walkable, sustainable, niches of civilization in the planets history. this project is a proposal for the expansion of the existing home of dreamstudios into a semi-indigenous living space encompassed by a structural juniper lattice system. in the ideal setting, an intense permacultural restoration and enhancement of the landscape would occure, bringing the natural environment into it's potential asthetically and productively, before carefully insterting human habitations into the place in celebration its inherant qualities. "becoming part of a place" captures the heart of this design paradigm. landing somewhere, and staying also offers a nice alternative to a paradigm of constantly taking off. this will become increasingly the case as the global community enters into an era of energy decline, where the real area of growth from human activity will no longer be in the quantity of material goods, but in quality, depth, and richness of the living experience.
