Thank you for visiting my professional site! Let me tell you a little bit about myself: M.S. Instructional Psychology & Technology (2003) Thesis: Practices and Academic Preparation of Instructional Designers PhD Instructional Psychology & Technology (2008) Dissertation: A Conceptual Analysis of Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) Current Position: Assistant Professor of Education, Utah Valley University, Orem, UT Courses Taught: Educational Psychology; Educational Technology; Curriculum, Instruction, & Assessment Research Interests: Brain-based teaching, learner-centered teaching, differentiation with technology, technology for higher-order thinking, developmental neuropsychology. Beyond the professional stuff, I also have something of a life! I am married and have two wonderful kids. I enjoy hanging out with my family, running, yoga, and reading young adult fantasy fiction. My dreams are: traveling to Ireland and China, convincing all teachers that technology can improve learning, and voicing a Disney character. I truly enjoy teaching. I believe that learning is an active process and that my role is to facilitate that process by providing meaningful experiences and resources for my students. Students in my classes can be found blogging, taking "learning tours" of the classroom, discussing content with me and each other, analyzing cases, and even, occasionally, dancing! It's all about making connections and finding meaning in the course content so that they can remember and apply it. Now, if it weren't for all of the pesky grading...
