These photo albums are windows into a more interesting and useful application of Google technology. If you click on one of the albums and then select 'view map' or 'view in Google Earth', you should see the absolute value of geotagged field photos. I use geotagged photos to share information about key outcrops or 'geoscapes' with collaborators and as a tool to aid in office-based geologic map compilation. This is a useful application with lots of possibilities for communicating geoscience to a larger audience (and to yourself).
