Program Summary

 

  • Make an 8-day service trip to an orphanage in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic: Provide meaningfuly service for an impoverished yet wonderful community!
  • Help raise funds and supplies for the community during Spring Semester.
  • Learn about poverty alleviation efforts in developing countries such as the Dominican Republic.
  • Enjoy 3 days devoted to social and cultural activities, including the following:
    • Spend one day at the beach on the Caribbean Sea
    • Visit historical sites: Santo Domingo has many of the oldest structures in the New World, including several sites settled and built by Columbus
    • Enjoy Dominican entertainment and cuisine
  • Stay at a seaside resort on the Caribbean Sea for the entire trip.
  • This is one of the least expensive, yet most enriching and immersed study abroad options available: approximately $1,300 + tuition (3 credits), which will include airfare, lodging, two meals per day, and selected cultural activities (to be announced).
