Are all majors invited?
Yes. We will accept 20 USC students of any major to go on the trip. The primary requirement is an eagerness to make a contribution to the project and learn about another culture.
No. We will be traveling in a group together with several people who are bilingual. The staff and personnel at the hotel and many of the locations we will visit know at least rudimentary English. If you know some Spanish and want to practice it, you will be able to find plenty of opportunities.
How much is tuition?
Summer tuition including fees is $1,226 for 3 credits. You should be able to apply this class towards your electives for your program. Check with your advisor to make certain.
Is the Dominican Republic safe?
The Dominican Republic is considered a safe place to travel to and we will prepare the trip to ensure the safest possible conditions for students. Of course, all travel has some risks. See the link below for recommendations of the State Department:
