Dr. Kenjum Bagra, M.Sc., PhD, LLB.

Dr. Kenjum Bagra did his Ph. D. in Zoology from Rajiv Gandhi University (Formerly Arunachal University), Rono Hills, Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh, India in the year 2010. His Doctoral research is in Biology and Habitat Ecology of a fish, Semiplotus semiplotus found in Eastern Himalayas.

Dr. Kenjum Bagra is currently working as Zoologist in North Eastern Institute of Ayurveda & Folk Medicine Research, Pasighat, Arunachal Pradesh under Ministry of Ayush, Government of India. Dr. Bagra is the first Arunachalee to be awarded Ph.D. in Zoology by Rajiv Gandhi University. He did his Ph. D. under the supervision of Prof. D.N. Das, then Head, Fisheries and Aquatic Ecology division, Department of Zoology, Rajiv Gandhi University. Dr. Bagra in his thesis unfolded all the important Biological and Habitat parameters of the fish Semiplotus semiplotus in detail. His book entitled "Biology and Habitat Ecology of Kingfish" has been published by Lambert Academic Publishing, Germany in March 2012. From his work, now this fish has got attention of National organization like Indian Council of Agriculture Research for its future conservation, domestication and propagation. His latest book "Industrial use of bioresources of Arunachal Pradesh" has been published by Arunachal Pradesh Biodiversity Board, Itanagar.

Dr. Bagra is the recipient of Research Fellow in Science for Meritorious Students from University Grants Commission, New Delhi in the year 2007. Actively engaged in Ichthyofaunal research, Dr. Bagra has got good publications on Fish Biodiversity of Eastern Himalayas in reputed National and International journals. Currently he is engaged in Ethnozoological research.
