Welcome to Earth and Space Science! This year we will be exploring many new and interesting topics in the realm of Earth and Space. We will be integrating technology and problem-based learning into our curriculum. My classes will use Smart boards, laptop computers, and digital cameras in the classroom. This technology will be used as a tool to help students gain an understanding of Earth and Space, how it works and how it applies to them, everyday. As a class, you should expect that the content will be covered in depth and with application, analysis, synthesis, and evaluation. I look forward to a fun and exciting year and remember; we are in this together. I am here to help each and every one of you as individuals and as a class to the best of my abilities. I also expect that you help yourselves: be inquisitive, ask questions, and don’t be afraid to make mistakes! My philosophy of education in the classroom is that we are here to achieve a common goal. My part is to facilitate, coach, and direct your learning. Your part is to ask questions, participate, and learn the material being presented. All of us should behave with respect and professionalism towards each other. |
