V2Bot Trading Capital

How to determine the capital you need to successfully trade with V2Bot?

First, you have to decide what kind of account you will be trading on - Mini or Standard and how much your Leverage will be.
Next, you need to know how much Currency Pairs you will be trading with the system, and how much lots you will be trading on every entry.

The Documentation page explains how V2Bot calculates a position size when entering a market. Using this info as a guideline, let's calculate how much Risk Capital you will need for one position:

RiskCapitalPerPosition = MaximumLotsPerPosition * (StopLoss * PipPrice * 1.2 + InitialMarginPerLot)

If you use default values (maximum 10 lots, stop loss at 60 pips) and use Mini lots and your Broker takes $50.00 as the initial margin, then:

RiskCapitalPerPosition  = 10 * (600 * 0.1 * 1.2 + 50) = $1,220.00

This amount of money,  $1220.00,  will be required every time V2Bot will be opening a new position. Actual "at risk" value, of course, is less than that and will be only StopLoss * PipPrice, which in our example is $600.00, but still you have to account for the margin requirements. The additional 20% is used by V2Bot in the calculations to guarantee your position from slippage and unforeseen events.

Without these 20% and without an initial margin, our formula will look simpler, but this will be a pure Loss Capital, not a Risk Capital:

LossCapitalPerPosition  = MaximumLotsPerPosition * StopLoss * PipPrice
LossCapitalPerPosition  = 10 * 600 * 0.1 = $600.00

Now let's think about losses. How much consequent losses you might afford to take until a Margin Call? Let's say, it's 3 losses in a row:

RiskCapital = LossCapitalPerPosition * (MaximumConsequentLosses - 1) + RiskCapitalPerPosition

RiskCapital = $600.00 * (3 - 1) + $1,220.00  = $3,660.00

Now, basing on this result, lets' make a spreadsheet for a Mini Account:

 Currency Pairs to tradeRisk Capital required for Mini Account
(2 lots per trade)

Minimum trade size required for Jumping Stop.
Risk Capital required for Mini Account
(5 lots per trade)

Good enough trade size.
Risk Capital required for Mini Account
(10 lots per trade)

Recommended lot size.

 2 $728.00$2,420.00 $4,840.00
