Inspired by this, I decided to make my own cotton candy machine.  I had some help from a friend and we assembled it in a few days.  While it worked with butane lighters held underneath, I wanted something more permanent and easy to use.  I decided to mount a pair of Bic lighters to the frame.   Using a custom makerbotted part (design attached below) I build a rig to hold the bics on.  This would allow easy production of the candy. 

Future plans include a funnel mount for easy refilling so that it can be completely self sustaining.
