TOWN MEETING! TOOOOOWN MEETING!
I stuck the other entries together in here. It made more sense.
[#] YELLOW ELLO! Please remain quiet while I cover the meeting
subjects through emits. I'll open the floor to conversation and
suggestions once I've put all the topics and what the meeting is about
on the table.
[#] So let's get started. The Hollow is
almost six years old, and it's no secret that the roleplay has kind of
drifted away from our daily routine. That's fine! We're people who like
to chatter and an active OOC area is just fine and dandy with me.
However, look around. The people you see, are really all that's left.
We're all here. Compare that to this time last year, if you were here
to remember. >
Kaelin'yFiae: (That is a TREMEDOUS difference.)
[#]
But this isn't a lecture about our member count, or all the OOC we do.
This is a community of roleplay and conversation. OOC is part of that!
Though we may have more fun talking OOC now, I think it is necessary
that the IC aspect of the Hollow remain alive. And understanding that
the dream has been the same setting for nearly six years now, I feel
it's time to add something new. Truly new. Something that will give you
all a little more to work with. >
[#] Not everyone is
going to be okay with this. Unfortunately this is the way I would like
it to be! And I think it will do the dream a lot of good. We're going
to add some obvious, numerous modern-urban elements. >
[#]
For example, the Hollow is going to be allowed a source of electricity
in the form of generaters. You can expect to see things like a dinky
little refrigerator running in the tavern. We will allow things like
motorcycles. Electric appliances. It will be a careful mix of what the
Hollow is now, and some modern influence. I understand that for some of
you this is an uncomfortable change. But the roleplay will die
completely if we don't add a new element. And I have chosen the modern
element because I know it to be in demand. >
[#] Additionally,
the dens have been converted to modern settings (.. mmmmetaphorically.
They're all this purple sparkle crap). With a custom city. (This city
will not be Daggit Switch, it will be a NEW CITY of your design. But it
will be a modern city, much like New York, or Gotham. It will be a city
on earth, near the water. It will be populated by humans. Magic will
exist, but it will not be believed to exist. It will be like taking our
imaginary characters.. and throwing them into a real life city where
they have to hide their unusual features.) >
[#] This
city will be accessable to the villagers by nexus and rifts. They will
be able to come back and forth of their own free will. Roleplay in the
HOllow and the City will happen simultaneously. The city will remain in
the den locations and be very generalized patch work so that the
players can describe the various city settings as opposed to needing to
have them all patched in. >
[#] The advantage of
having our memberbase shrink so much, is the opportunity to almost
start over. Not really over, but it'll be a little like turning the
page without a lot of people being effected by it really hard. Use of
the Dens shared site will be encouraged and needed to make this work.
>
[#] I will need help to implement this, because
I'll be working on borrowed time. I need people willing to come forward
and help maintain the Shared site, and I need players willing to hop in
and start some story. Don't be afraid to get creative. I'm offering you
a setting. I am essentially offering you Draygans Hollow, to this small
little group of people, to redesign. The city doesn't even have a name
or location, but we're going to decide that tonight. >
[#] Opening
the floor now to thoughts and feelings! Suggestions for implementation
(PLEASE keep them practical and on subject. I need this workload to
stay as small as possible). Be honest, it's going to happen, but I do
want to know how you feel about it.

[#] Opening the floor now to thoughts and feelings!
Suggestions for implementation (PLEASE keep them practical and on
subject. I need this workload to stay as small as possible). Be honest,
it's going to happen, but I do want to know how you feel about it.- Kaelin'yFiae: One: Obviously it needs a name. A city is
pretty much going to make itself. You're all probably thinking dirty,
grimey, crimey at night. Regular metropolis in day.
- Kaelin'yFiae: Two: One of the things done in Daggit
Switch is we established an other-worldly bar where the characters
could go and sit freely. They didn't have to hide because the bar is
there specifically for other-worldly critters.
Kaelin'yFiae: GREAT NOW MY BUTT ITCHES.
- Kaelin'yFiae: Three: Keep the power-bar on a middle
level. When you get a city Rp going it's very easy to make a class of
titans, and a class of underdogs. The underdogs get buried and then it's really not much fun.
- Kaelin'yFiae: All of the Dens are considered entry
points. In fact, we can probably consider them literally entry points
where they are on the map. Or anywhere really. if you wanna say there's
a nexus smack dab in the middle of the tavern floor, I say go for it.
*
KEEP THESE IN MIND
- Kaelin'yFiae: 1. Again,
keep the power bar on a middle level. PLEASE, don't overdo
city-powerful characters. The city is a massive place. You're allowed
to blow things up and make mayhem without my interference. But you have
to be respectful that there are other people using the setting.
- Kaelin'yFiae: .. Actually I can't think fo any rules besides that one. That is the Coupe de gra of city-Rp rules. JUST DONT GO AND GODZILLA THE WHOLE PLACE.
