Clinical Psychologist (Inactive)
Santa Maria, California
California License PSY 14355 (Inactive)
I have closed my psychology practice due to the declining reimbursement from managed care agencies.
In my new career I can spend time with my children instead of spending more time at the office to make enough money to support my family. While I regret not being of service to people in need, it is important for me to be there for my own family.
I occasionally still receive requests for psychotherapeutic help; I can provide referrals to other therapists. Please contact me via e-mail (DrAndrewMillar@Gmail.com) if you would like a referral to a local therapist.

Personal Background
An old concept of psychology is to "Give the profession away." My professors and mentors have been generous to me and so it's my turn to share my experiences from my private practice in clinical psychology. Mainly I communicate through my regular newspaper column for the Santa Maria Times and the Lompoc Record, newspapers on the California Central Coast. The articles I write reflect the concerns and problems my clients bring to my office. Together we create ways of understanding problems and we develop solutions every day. The ones that work best make their way into print so that other people may find answers and techniques for their own situations.I am reproducing many of those newspaper articles on this Web site. Here you will find links to concepts and philosopies in clinical psychology, plus descriptions of problems and practical solutions. Please follow the links to find keys to understanding current concerns of psychology and the everyday questions presented by the people who consult their friendly, local psychologist. |
