Have your say on the proposals

We need your help to shape an important part of Plymouth’s heritage that’s right on your doorstep. Drake’s Place Gardens and Reservoir on North Hill are historic gems and provide a rare green space in this busy urban area. With support from the Heritage Lottery Fund, Plymouth University is working closely with local residents and organisations to bring the gardens and reservoir back into the life of the community for everyone to enjoy.

Our vision is to restore the site as an accessible, welcoming haven for people and wildlife, in keeping with its Victorian character. Our Stage 1 bid secured Heritage Lottery funding to enable us to develop ideas for Drake’s Place. A very important part of this is to seek your views, which will help shape the plans we submit in the Stage 2 bid for around £500,000. If the bid is successful, the University plans to match that funding.

Conserving our heritage is key, and there are things we must do to conserve and maintain the area, including its Grade II-listed features. If our bid is successful, there will be some money left to spend on other features – your views will help us choose.
