Welcome to the Dragonfly Preschool Classroom. We are excited about our new web page. It has been created to keep you updated and informed about what we do in the classroom.
The first two weeks of school is “All About Me”. We will be talking about what makes each of us special and unique. We will talk about hair and eye color, naming and identifying basic body parts (eyes, ears, mouth, arms, hands, feet, toes, etc.) and making art projects about our hands and feet, eyes and hair color. Children will learn their classmates’ names by playing a ball passing game. We will make bodies with crackers, pretzel sticks and cream cheese, sing songs about our hands, body parts, and emotions, measure how tall we are, draw a self portrait. We will engage in activities that include markers, crayons, playdough, and glue.
The last two weeks of September we will be talking about “The Farm.” Children will name and identify farm animals and equipment. Animal sounds will be heard throughout the town of Rochester. We will be making a delicious Pancake Pig, an adorable circle sheep made out of paper, and we will pretend to be farmers taking care of the animals and crops found on a farm. |
