We are aware that parents have busy lives and cannot always make it out to the Monthly Meeting, we hope that this will help to keep you in the loop. :)
  
District PAC’s role:
 

Ø      To provide PACs with any information provided by the Board of Education

Ø      To disseminate information about district policies, programs and activities to parents, in a timely manner, as it becomes available.

Ø      To advise the Board of Trustees on parental views about the district’s programs and policies, through standing / ad-hoc committees / consultation.

Ø      To provide relevant education opportunities and organizational support to parents, through conferences and workshops.

Ø      To liaise between parents, education partners, other community organizations.

Ø      To assist and facilitate parents and PACs in accessing the system, through the provision of information regarding policy, processes, resources and contacts.

Provincial Sales Tax (PST) Exemptions for Families/Children

In British Columbia, Social Service Tax is also known as Provincial Sales Tax (PST).
It applies to most goods and services bought, sold or brought into B.C.

Provincial Sales Tax (PST) is imposed under the Social Service Tax Act. It applies to sales and leases of goods and some services, such as services to repair and maintain taxable goods. The tax is payable by the person who purchases or leases the goods, unless the item is specifically exempt from tax under the Act.
